Praia da Manta Rota Beach
is deep, long and popular. You can drive straight to the beach as it is here that the lagoon of the Ria Formosa finally comes to an end. Consequently, access to the car park gets very busy in peak season. From Calico Park this beach is no more than 15 minutes drive.

Praia da Verde Beach
You can find it just to the west of Monte Gordo and stretching to the West towards Tavira. This beach takes its name from its surrounding greenery, composed by a line of trees and bushes that line the land side of the broad endless beach. Ideally suitable for most families with their children.

Zoomarine
Located in Guia, just a few kilometers from Albufeira, you can watch presentations with dolphins, seals and sea lions, with tropical birds and birds of prey. Zoomarine theme park is open all year round from 10am to 6pm, for more precise information and prices see official website.

Vila Real de Santo António
is situated on the Rio Guadiana, which is the river that divides the Algarve from Spain. If you stand on the far eastern edge of Vila Real you can easily see the Spanish coastline and the bridge over the river that connects the town to Ayamonte in Spain. Vila Real has a large town square edged with orange trees and populated with low white buildings, shops, cafes and restaurants.

Tavira
is a really attractive town with some lovely, quite grand, buildings reflecting it’s wealthy past particularly around the Praça da República area and then typical rows of portuguese ‘town’ houses with tiled fronts along narrow cobbled streets; shops to browse in; pretty gardens and squares to sit in and, of course, plenty of restaurants and cafes for refreshments!

Monte Gordo
The main attraction of Monte Gordo is its long wide golden beach, which is rated amongst the longest and the best in the Algarve. The sea is a little warmer here, being in the east of the Algarve. Away from the hotels, behind the beach you’ll find sand dunes and pine forests. The main attraction during the day is the beach and watersports. In many ways it is a perfect place for families.
